About Us
Life is complicated. It’s more complicated with pain. Whether it’s pain after a surgery, a recent sports injury or chronic over months or years, it can keep us from living our best life.
Our mission is to deliver drug-free, non-invasive solutions for physicians and patients who are managing pain.
Tim Smith, our founder and CEO, is the principal designer of Avazzia’s reaction technology™ platform. He has decades of engineering design experience and success from his 20+ year career with Texas Instruments. While at TI, Smith’s products included the logic chips for the Apollo lunar modules; technology used extensively in military jets, including the F-14, F-15, B1 and B2; and micro-technology that transformed the telecom industry. He is perhaps most widely recognized as the inventor of the microchips used to develop the first Apple computer and IBM PC.
“I’ve been an inventor and design engineer all my life,” Smith says. “I may have retired from TI, but my brain didn’t retire.” Smith met someone who was being treated for foot pain because of diabetes, and was worried about amputation. “I could immediately see in my mind how to design a product to help him and others dealing with pain. This was the beginning of Avazzia.
Smith would then travel the globe, gathering input from medical professionals across multiple specialties about Chakras, Meridian points, and the body’s response to electrical nerve stimulation, now known as microcurrent. His question was always simple, “What do you want the device to do?” Then, he’d return home, roll up his sleeves and make it happen.
What has evolved is the first and only microcurrent device with reaction technology™, cleared by the FDA for noninvasive, drug-free pain relief up to 24 hours. Avazzia’s product lines include over-the-counter microcurrent devices for general pain; prescription-required devices for acute and chronic pain; devices for international markets; devices for veterinary medicine market; Ezzi-lift microcurrent device for the beauty and aesthetic market and patented medical-grade accessories.
